Well I got my bank card.
As for what's annoying me now, it's this sudden influx of strangers trying to get me to add them on messenger. I don't know who they are, so I block them. But I'd like to know where my E-mail address was suddenly posted up. I've had it visible on DeviantART for years but this has never happened. Oh well.

Still don't have my ATM card. I think it will arrive before the end of next week. I want to switch to a new bank, simply to piss off the one I'm with on account of them pissing me off.
I can't wait to get it though cause I need cash. I owe people money, about $400 in total. And I walked past Young's the man's shop today after work and noticed they have their coats in this year, so I want to go in and buy one. Also I need cash for alcohol at Terracon. Which I am going to. Yay.

When not at work, I am online. When I run out of things to do online, I start blogging. So, I ask you again... sup?
Going to Terracon next month, most likely. I don't really feel like playing 40K but I do feel like ending an 11 month sobriety streak. Still need to paint moar.
Still haven't got a working copy of Maya, but I guess I could find one if I really made the effort. Two things I -did- make the effort to do today was send off my thingo to get free movie tickets, and...something else. I'm not telling you what though. It's a surprise. Still haven't actually put in the form to get time off for Terracon yet though :P but meh.

I was going to go to Adelaide as well, but I'm not going to, just yet. Another time maybe, if it's still there.
Been watching Alias an awful lot, got the DVDs. I'm on season 3 at the moment. I like Arvin Sloane, he's cool.

I'm not sure I want to keep on pursuing 3D animation. In my 3-4 years of learning and working, I am yet to locate a copy of Maya (pirated or legit) that will not autoclose or corrupt files every few minutes. Is this what I am to expect from any studio I may work for? I spend a lot of time at work, and I need to get a showreel put together by the end of the year. I can't believe I don't hear these complaints more from my friends who usually supply me with semi-usable copies of things. What do you guys think? Is this the norm to the point where everyone is quiet about it or does technology just hate me? |

Yes, I was at the funeral today, for Angus's father. I don't think I ever talked to him an awful lot but knowing people who did, well it would have been rude of me not to make an appearance. Angus is awesome.
Also I have been ill. Ear infection, and coughing, and all that claptrap.
There is something about seeing all you guys. By that I mean, Angus, Aaron, Hannah, and even my own sister. I don't see myself as part of that "circle" but whenever I hang out with you guys, I just feel like I want to go back to Adelaide with you and live there. It's like I keep on saying, you cannot see the big picture when you are inside it. I don't see how monotonous and lonely my life is when I'm not in another town, which is when I feel like I can't tolerate this any further. Yes, I am aware that there is a better way to word that feeling, but I am tired and my ear is playing up again.
No, I don't hate Mount Gambier. I just... would like to live elsewhere. I know what you're thinking though, it's all talk. Well, I have lived in the future for most of my life, as in, it's always been "things will be great, in the future, regardless of how life is right now". Anyways, just thought I'd mention it, I don't think you folks realized how I felt about it.
I have been doing almost no 3D. I have done a little but not much. My edge ring tool makes Maya auto-close, every time I use it. Being primarily a character modeler, I use that tool a lot. Fortunately there are alternatives, they just take a bit longer. Oh technology, how I loathe thee. |

Yeah well I hardly ever post here anymore, do I? Well, I suppose there isn't much that's going on that you folks don't already know about. I may as well keep a record here for legal reasons.
I have now got a job working at Hungry Jack's, putting frozen burger patties into a broiler. Oh what fun. I don't even know how long I will be working there but I hope I'll be there for a while. I need to save up money.
Ah... I bought a leather jacket today. I plan on cutting it apart to make some steampunk goggles. It might help if I had some knowledge of working with textile but we all have to learn some way, right?
And I now have Maya and Zbrush on my computer. Also this is the first computer I have owned that had more than 512MB RAM (I now have 2GB) but unfortunately, Maya likes to be rather fecal in that it keeps on crashing and corrupting whatever I Was working on at the time. I shall have to find some way around that.
And... I've been thinking a bit too much about toy soldiers. I got trounced by Glennn's nids today but one loss is not enough to get my head straight so I'll need to do some more losing before I can hold onto my money again.
What else? Oh yeah, my DVD player can't play DVDs. How crap is that? Ah well. Can't think of much more else to say. So, bye all. |

What would you call the measurement of how terrifyingly furious a single person is at a single time? I put in a new hard drive, processor, motherboard and RAM, thinking that I would end up with a computer that can actually turn on for once.
I was wrong. My new rig doesn't fucking turn on without resetting itself before even getting to windows.
I shall forever ignore any such comments as "don't hate technology". I do hate it, I hate it when it doesn't work and I especially hate it when it should work and doesn't. In other words, I hate it all the time. |

Companies are always trying to make software that is better, more powerful, and more diverse. I would like it if instead of that, they would try making software that actually works. Is that too much to ask for?
How many times a day do we have to fight the urge to put our foot through whichever PC we are using at the time, regardless of whether it is yours or not? Dunno about you people, but I feel like that at least once a day, and it pisses me off.
On another note, I am now 19 years old. And I have been pretty busy at TAFE and bored everywhere else. I am waiting for my new motherboard to arrive. The one I had to pay for myself even though dad was going to get it since he owes me a heap of money. Money which he has owed me for a few months, and have not seen. He's also owed me a cheeseburger for over a month, which I haven't seen. I hate having to trust other people to get their shit together, because they almost never do.
*yawn* well I have plenty of animation to do. Animation which I can't do because these computers all seem to have been shat on. I hate technology. |

So I came to TAFE today fully intent on getting my awesome render started so I can have something cool before monday. I have my project set, my scene set up and everything, ready to render. It was then that I discovered that the genius network supervisor had decided that students should not be able to log in to more than 2 computers at once. Great going, I can definitely see the purpose behind such a fucking move.
So I asked the people in the library who I could call to sort it out, and they put me in touch with the help desk. I told them the issue and they said they would put me in touch with someone who could help. A few minutes later, I find myself in conversation with none other than fucking IT support, some person with an accent trying to help me log onto a computer, because apparently that was the issue. The conversation ended quickly and I found myself in an angry mood.
I spent the next hour or so walking around the TAFE campus asking various people, doing a lot of waiting, before discovering that not a single person in ICT was available. Fucking grrr. I was looking forward to this all week and now I can't do it because apparently it's cool to limit multimedia students. So much for trying to put in extra effort. Looks like I'll have to do it piece by piece throughout the week. |

Well I have to render 780 frames, which will take an average of 20-25 minutes each, and that's just for a few seconds of "here's proof I'm doing something". Shawn has said that I will be able to take over the entire Multimedia room over the weekend to meet the demand. That will let me render 11 frames at once, meaning that if the people in charge don't turn the computers off over the weekend, I should have a rather nice looking little piece to show you all next week. I still haven't decided what I should be working on until the weekend though :P
Aaron, are there any tips you can offer me regarding render farms? I don't want to fuck this up.
On another note, I have pepsi. Mmmmm pepsi. |

I am not proud. I am not of the fact that while I live at home, I have spent more money this year on Subway and KFC than it would cost me to get myself a rather impressive PC. Now I am getting essentially a board with nails in it, because it's all I can afford and all I really want is something that will turn on. Upgrading will be for when I get a job, if ever.
I go back to TAFE tomorrow. About bloody time too. I really miss my beloved Maya. I'm going to go mad with 3D and I don't give a shit if I'm falling behind on my After Effects assignment. Damn I'm in the mood for 3D, I want to be there now.
I am kinda looking forward to having an actual working PC in less than 2 weeks. That will be great. It won't be the best rig out there, but I will be very glad to have it at all.

Okay ladies and chaps, there has something that has been bothering me for about a year now and I would love some answers.
What the fuck does everyone do all day every weekend that keeps them away from the internet? Okay, some have to work weekends, and some have that nasty habit of doing housework. But I don't think that properly justifies ALL of my friends being occupied all fucking day, every fucking weekend, for a year. Seriously, aren't weekends, sundays in particular, supposed to be about sitting back and doing nothing productive? Even if you do need to do some cleaning, that should not take an entire 2 days every single week. And if you like to go out saturday nights, then where are you in the morning?

No, I am not going to answer that question. What I will do is ask another question - who in the real world finds Eyore charming? No, that "gloomy outlook" is boring and depressing, and no one likes him. Of course I wouldn't want to be trapped in an elevator with Tigger either (hands up who wants to be in a confined space with a giant predatorial cat with ADD?) but seriously, who wrote that question up there? It's stupid. End of story. |
